100 Years of ARMSTRONG SIDDELEY MOTORS 1919 - 2019

In 2019, we will be celebrating the centenary of the Armstrong Siddeley Motors brand. It was in 1919 that the Siddeley-Deasey Motor Company joined forces with The Sir W G Armstrong Whitworth Development Co to produce motor cars from a factory in Coventry under the name of Armstrong Siddeley Motors Ltd. This arrangement was to last some 40 years until 1960 when, due to various mergers, car production ceased. Eventually, after negotiations with the new owners, Rolls Royce Ltd, the factory stock of spare parts and all Company documents and records including the brand name and all intellectual property of Armstrong Siddeley Motors passed to this owners club.

We are therefore getting very excited about celebrating our centenary in a couple of years time. A special committee has been formed under the chairmanship of our Publicity Officer, David Welch, who is organising a year of special events for both club members and non members who enjoy owning these lovely old cars. Events will include local rallies and tours around the country with a major National Rally in the Coventry area where it is hoped that upwards of 100 Armstrong Siddeleys from both U.K. and Europe will be present.

To launch the proceedings the club Directors are commissioning new clothing and merchandise and the Chairman has invited club members to enter a competition to design a new logo for use during the centenary period. Club members can see details of this competition in the members section of this site.

All details of these exciting events will of course be published on this site as and when they become available.
