South West Region Christmas Lunch Report

Pre-lunch conversationThe South West region Christmas lunch was held at the Dartmoor Lodge, Ashburton, Devon on Sunday 25th January 2015.

Notwithstanding that winter bugs and other mishaps meant that our numbers went down a little, our annual ‘Christmas’ lunch was a great success. Mary Savill, only out of hospital on the Monday came on crutches – such determination, and several others were getting over illness.

The food was excellent and the noise level high. We were supported by Ann Blatchford, our ASOC Chairman and her husband Andy. Also driving a distance were Paul and Ben Coombs, Ian Leighton Boyce and Iain Campbell, Chair of Trustees for ASHT, and Margaret.Ready to eat

Thank you to Iain for giving the meeting an interesting talk on the Heritage Trust with an update on progress on various projects, and also to others who helped with the event.

I think it is very important to mention what great “troopers” our visitors are, travelling up to 200 miles from home to support us, as they do in all the regions, at some personal cost and giving up so much of their time. Certainly we in the far flung West Country applaud them.
